FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Young Voices: Stories That Spark the City Creative Workshops Continue at Liverpool Central Library
Liverpool, UK — 9th March 2026

Following the remarkable success of the World Book Day Creative Genius Workshop held on Saturday 7 March, Liverpool’s youngest published authors are returning to Liverpool Central Library to continue inspiring the next generation of young writers and storytellers.
As part of the Liverpool Year of Reading 2026, two further Young Voices: Stories That Spark the City Creative Workshops will take place on:
Saturday 14 March 2026
Saturday 21 March 2026
2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Liverpool Central Library, William Brown Street, Liverpool
These dynamic workshops are led by Liverpool’s youngest published authors — Latoya, Caleb and Destiny Likambi, whose inspiring achievements as international bestselling authors, youth mentors and creative leaders continue to inspire young people across the city and beyond.
Hosted by Likambi Global Publishing in partnership with Liverpool Central Library, the workshops build on the enthusiasm and inspiration sparked during the World Book Day launch event, which brought together young readers, writers and families to celebrate creativity, storytelling and the power of youth leadership.
Designed by young people, for young people, the workshops offer a unique opportunity for participants to learn directly from peers who have already achieved remarkable success in writing and publishing.
Dr Sylvia Forchap-Likambi, mum, mentor and coach to the young authors, said:
“At the heart of this initiative is the transformational power of peer influence and mentorship. When children see young people like themselves writing books, leading discussions and speaking confidently on literary platforms, they connect and begin to see their own potential reflected back at them.
Their confidence grows and they begin to believe, ‘If they can do it, so can I.’”
Through interactive storytelling, guided creative writing workshops and engaging discussions, participants will explore the joy of reading and writing while developing their creativity and confidence.
The workshops will feature:
- Live readings and storytelling sessions
- Guided creative writing activities
- An interactive panel discussion and Q&A with the young authors
- Practical tools to unlock creativity and imagination
- A young writers’ competition celebrating emerging talent
Selected competition winners will receive certificates of recognition and personally autographed copies of the young authors’ books, encouraging them to continue reading, writing and developing their creative voice.
Participants will also have the opportunity to access a complimentary coaching session with Dr Sylvia Forchap-Likambi and enter a competition to publish alongside the young authors.
The initiative reflects a powerful message: when young people are given the opportunity to lead with creativity, courage, and confidence, they inspire their peers and awaken belief in an entire generation.
The Young Voices: Stories That Spark the City Creative Workshops form part of Liverpool’s wider celebration of reading, storytelling and literacy through the Liverpool Year of Reading 2026.
